I know the FootDr and Standish are adamant about question 2 not passing but could you tell me why. What do you foresee in the future that would convince the rest of us that’s it are a bad idea? Please know farewell that other towns are doing this now “Newington” and there are no problems there.

You must be kidding! Read the last thousand posts here. Go to the q2no.org website. Educate yourself.

Why educate myself on this matter, I have you and the Doc as the propaganda machines that have done nothing but blow smoke up our butts. First of all I have no idea where you recommend I go, second, why are you such a poppas A$$ when someone disagrees with you.

Hey Doc, you seem to be better at mis- information than you are at working on feet. I hope for the sake of your patients, that there is not anything on a pro town agenda that might divert your attention otherwise we might have more bowlegged people than we do.

Well, it was almost 24 hours without anyone resorting to bullying, name calling and personal attacks.... I knew it was too good to be true.

I am sorry to report that "Play By The Rules!" signs (and only those signs) have been stolen all over town. We ask that, if your sign was stolen, you report the theft to the Wethersfield Police Department at 571-2900. In addition, please let us know so we may replace your sign as soon as possible.
It is unfortunate that some would so sorely disabuse the process and suppress your right to free speech. We will contact the media to inform them of this situation. We know that signs are missing from Main, Nott, Garden, Marsh, Fairmont, Crest & Maple Streets, Griswold & Ridge Roads, Folly Brook Boulevard, Middletown Avenue & Silas Deane Highway. However, if your sign is missing, please let us know even if your street is mentioned. We may not know that your particular sign was taken.
Please note that the thefts took place at night. If your sign became "missing" today, during the day, and it was on the apron between the sidewalk and street, chances are that the town removed it for being posted in a town right-of-way). Let us know and we'll replace that one, too, except in a legal position on your property.
Thank you. It is a sad situation.

With these signstealing incidents happening in all geographic parts of town, and only to 1 side of the referendum, they cannot be blamed on kids pranks. A public statement needs to be made by the leaders of the Let There Be Lights group. And, that statement (or rather that explanation) needs to be made in a venue that the general public has access to. That means: someplace other than this message board. Possible choices are: Hartford Courant Town News reporter; WFSB, WVIT. Lack of such a statement means to me that the actions are condoned or maybe even approved by the O'Connor/Sanzaro forces.

Bonnie tells me that "Let There Be Lights" signs have also been reported "missing". It's just the "kiddies", she said. However, our group (Play By The Rules!) is missing literally dozens of signs all over town. Virtually all were taken in the same fashion (sign ripped off, leaving the frame in place). Many of these thefts have been reported to the police. Yet, the police now advise our complainants "not to bother" with a formal complaint, because it's "kids" (a familiar refrain?). None of the reports of stolen "lights" signs have been made to the police (I guess they were just made to Bonnie). At least one officer said that it's "only the red ones" that are being taken. Furthermore, if anyone's signs have gone missing this morning (the bulk of the "stolen" lights signs?), it was probably the town further confusing the issue by removing all signs in the rights-of-ways. Don't accept "no report" for an answer. Insist that the police take your complaint!

I'm getting tired of Bonnie's play-dumb approach. She didn't know what the Flood Encroachment Board members qualifications were on the Dobruck/sewer issue. She hedged over and over on the 'grandfather' issue re: Referendum Question 1. She can't (or chooses not to) answer simple questions raised by Councillors at Council Meetings. That pattern has been going on for some time. It's one thing for a Town Manager to not take political sides. What she's been doing goes way beyond that.

Apparently there are still a few people in town and especially on this board who say that they don't really understand what all the fuss over Question #2 is about.
( Unfortunately, the CRG-PAC to which I belong - working for a VOTE NO on Q#2 - have suffered an unanticipated event when SyZyGy repeatedly posted a large picture (coupled with a link) to our website - apparently to do us a favor. Bill Randazzo, in the name of 'spam' prevention, has blocked any active link to our site. On our site, which recommends a NO vote on Q # 2 on Tuesday, has all of the details which a reasonable and responsible person would need to come to the conclusion that organization has: a NO vote on Q # 2 .)
For those of you here, I would suggest that you tune into one of the following broadcasts where we have also displayed the link to our organization's 'NO vote on Q # 2' website. Jot it down and visit our site. You have a chance this evening at both 7:30 and then later at 10:30, barring any aberrant electronic events. You will then have a chance to weigh in more informed than before.
We are sure that upon a careful and considerate review of the material there, you will be able to see why we are a 'NO vote on Q # 2' orgganization. You will see that the important risk with Q # 2 is not the "lights" but exempting the largest land owner in the town of Wethersfield - the Town of Wethersfield itself - from its own regulations, the same rules and procedures which you as a home or business owner must comply with. Day & Date of Broadcasts of Zoning - Rules to Live and Play by on WCTV-14: Friday, May 20______8:00 AM___7:30 & 10:30 PM Saturday, May21____8:00 AM___12:00 Noon Sunday, May 22_______________12:30, 6:00 & 7:30 PM Monday, May 23____9:00 AM___6:30 & 9:00 PM If you really want a politically dysfunctional town here, then you will probably disagree with our recommendation to VOTE NO on Q # 2. If you are truly blinded by the lights, then you will probably enjoy watching Wethersfield devolve into something akin to Hartford - if we, as a inner ring town, are not absorbed into the corporate confines of Hartford first.
I am most incredulous that there might be enough people who have been deceived by the mantra of "it's for the kids" when in fact it is really "it's for the parents of the kids" - their kids who should be resting, relaxing and recreating in a less strenuous way in the evening(s) after a hard day at school and on the fields. The opinions expressed here are my own and do not necessarily represent those of CRG-PAC

More red "PLAY BY THE RULES!" signs vandalized and/or stolen last night. Any blue signs? Not to my knowledge. "Kids" are one thing. Suppression of political speech, another. Shame!
