There is a statute that tells what the required "minority representation" is on different boards and commissions. For example, in a five member commission, no more than four may be from the same party. For something like P&Z, with nine members and three alternates, no more than six of the full members and two of the alternates may be from the same party. The Democrats are simply taking every possible slot that they can fill and appointing Democrats to them. Is it legal? yes. Is it providing the town with the best qualified volunteers? you decide.

Does anyone know what happened at the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting last night about the Cottone Field lights? Town manager had said that it would be discussed there.
