5. Board/Commission News:
6. Council Questions/Answers:
• At your last Council meeting, there was a comment made that the high school track was going to have work done on it this year. There is no money budgeted in either the Board or Town budget for any work to be done on the track.
• At your last Council meeting, the following questions were asked: Who is the architect’s authorized representative assigned to the project? The only contact I have is with Robert Delmonico from RAD Associates. There are no additional costs to the project other then the base line bid. All testing will be done under the base bid.
7. CRCOG: Nothing this week
CCM: Nothing this week.
8. Miscellaneous:
• Attached are the notice of sale and appendices for the $5,500,000 BANs scheduled to be sold on June 24 and will be settled on June 30, 2004.
• In the claim of Hammer vs. Historic District, the claimant is not seeking monetary damages, and therefore falls under the non-monetary exclusion of the Town’s Public Officials policy. However, our Insurance Agent, Greg Bedula, has advised me that CIRMA is willing to indemnify the Town for defense costs on the non-covered claim of Hammer vs. Historic District up to $10,000 incurred for this claim subject to the policy’s $10,000 deductible.
• The Chairman of the Columbus Celebration and Parade Committee has invited the Town of Wethersfield to participate in the City of Hartford’s Columbus Day Parade on Sunday October 10, 2004.
• The Auditor’s will be beginning their work very soon. If there are any Departments or areas you would like the Auditors to concentrate on, please let me know as soon as possible.
• Judy Keane made a presentation to the Board of Education last Tuesday on a 9/11 Memorial Sports Center (temporary facility) at the Silas Deane Middle School. I have attached the handouts on this project. The Board will be voting on this at their next meeting. Judy will be coming to one of your future meetings to discuss this exciting project.
• 20 Westlook Road is on the pre bid survey list. The letter was sent to the previous owner.
B. PROJECT UPDATES:
• The asbestos work done previously at the Webb School was completed in a different area then is now being done by our contractors.
• The Cottone Football Field is now stripped of the dirt and work has begun on the project.
