hmmm. I was going through the values online for my neighborhood. I found most of the houses had approx. a 17 to 20 grand appreciation due to land. Land was constant across the board. Most houses either appreciated or depreciated 2 to 5 grand. End result of the totals going up around 20 thousand. I found one a couple of streets over where the building was depreciated 15 grand bringing the overall assessment about equal to the 07 value? Clerical error? Now we wait and see what the new mil rate will be ......................

I also observed that land values increased significantly across the board. Likewise, I see that most building values increased moderately. One exception I saw was a neighbor's new garage, whose value was way, way less then last year. Maybe what we're seeing is that new buildings depreciate quickly.

New buildings I could understand, but this was a house that was built in the mid 60's the same as the rest of the neighborhood. I drove by the other day and it looked in as good or better shape than the surrounding homes.
