Should there be a LIMIT to the number of consecutive TERMS for each ELECTED STATE Legislator, both Houses combined?
For example, a Legislator might win election to the House for 3 consecutive terms, and subsequently win election to the Senate for three consecutive; the combined terms for that individual would be six terms. Or, the Legislator might only serve one term in the House and then three consecutive terms in the Senate for a total of four terms.
There are many variations for term limits; what are some of those which come to you? Consider the benefits, "connections," and perq's of incumbent Legislators over the non-incumbent citizens.
I raise the issue of term limits because I don't believe that the goal of serving in the Legislature is to make it, in essence if not in fact, life-long job.
