Parents of teenage prospective drivers...Beware Patz driving school - We have had nothing but nightmares in dealing with them. The instructors are sub-par, and the owners are two of the rudest people I have ever had the dis-pleasure to deal with. My son has been trying for weeks to schedule his final hour, so he can take his test (completing a driving school course prior to getting the license usually leads to a significant break in your insurance rates) - he has been canceled on a couple of times, and is continually told to call back at 7:00 pm to schedule an appointment. When he calls at 7:00, he gets a recording, so he leaves a message and does not get a return call. We have paid for this course in full prior to him starting. Today I took matters into my own hands and called - I first was told that I needed to call back @ 4:00 for Bob or Pauline - I called at 4:15 and was quickly told by Bob, that he could not speak to me now because he had "just gotten out of the pool" and that I should call back in a couple of hours. When I explained to him that that really wasn't going to work for me, he stated that I should remain amicable and just do what he says. I called back from a different line at 5:00 and spoke with Pauline, who was equally as uninterested in helping me. It was as if my wanting to get my sons course completed was the biggest inconvenience in the world for her. She didn't have the scheduling book in front of her and she would have to go all the way down stairs to get it, so she would be back in " a little while". When she did get back on the line, I attempted to explain my frustration, and needed to get his last session scheduled for this week, I was quickly told that that was impossible, and I would have to take one of the dates available that she gave me. After continuing to plead my case I finally caved and took the earliest available spot she could give me, and asked that if she had any cancellations in the mean time could she please call me. She said she would, so I was giving her my #'s, but when I attempted to give her my cell phone #, she said "I don't have time to take that now" and abruptly hung up on me. I don't anticipate getting a call.
