Equally interesting is what is NOT in the Hartford Courant. For some unknown reason, they don't appear to be making any endorsement in the 28th House seat.
Maybe they figured that they would actually have had to endorse the Republican candidate and decided to sit it out instead. I can't imagine how they could with a straight face have written that Russ was better qualified, better educated, more experienced, well informed, had new and useful ideas..... or any one of those things.

In today's HC:
Accomplishments Few (IF ANY!) for Morin I have to shake my head when I read that Wethersfield Mayor Russ Morin, candidate for the 28th House District seat, takes credit for town improvements that were initiated by, funded by, and constructed by citizen groups. The Wethersfield dog park, skate park and bocce courts are products of citizen action groups, not Mayor Morin's actions. In all fairness, Mr. Morin should be given credit for the financing of Cottone Field, arguably a violation of the town charter.
I have to ask my self what has Mayor Morin done for Wethersfield during his 3 1/2-year tenure as mayor. Economic development? Nope, don't see it unless you count three Dunking' Donuts on the Silas Deane Highway. Better schools? Nope, test scores are down. Financial stability? Nope, the town debt keeps increasing. Higher taxes? Yup, as much as 40 percent increase during his tenure.
It makes his Republican opponent very appealing.

The husband of a former Town Counciler and current BOE member complained in yesterday's HC that Morin's opponent recently went negative with one of her mail pieces. He complained that it was negative to call into question the "trust" which Morin supposedly has with the citizens and taxpayers of Wethersfield. Well, maybe Paul and Juli are partially right - that You can Trust Russ to: Raise Taxes Count on Party Bosses for direction Raise Taxes Steal credit for Citizens' Projects Raise Taxes Limit Public Input at Meetings Raise Taxes Play Politics with Town Charter Raise Taxes Force Elders out of Town Raise Taxes Regionalize Local Services Raise Taxes Lessen Local Controls Raise Taxes Go with Prevailing Winds Raise Taxes Force Jobs out of CT Raise Taxes Help Bankrupt the State Tax & Spend - Spend & Tax Tax & Spend - Spend & Tax & Spend - Spend Tax & Spend - Sp Tax & Spend - Tax & Spen Tax & S TAX tax Ax The Taxman:
