In this week's Wethersfield Post under real estate transactions, a certain house on Westway sold for $360,000.
What happened to the anti-Cottone Field argument of property values going south?
They will probably say it could have sold for $500,000 + if it wasn't for the field.

I can't quite bring myself to use any term of gentility for someone who chooses to call himself 'hardass'. Nonetheless, you wrote: What was the number of the house on Westway which fetched that price? Was it the Rodd's house (formerly a home) at 88 or was it another?
[The Rodd's are leaving Wethersfield for another town with a kinder and gentler demeanor and neighborhood. I wish them well; no one should have to but up with the BS which they had to, considering the juveniles on the adjacent fields and in the peanut galleries around them.]
Perhaps someday, HA, you will be in a situation where your home is put in jeopardy and you find yourself without any other recourse than to move. You can laugh all you want, but anything is possible.

I guess when you move next to a school that also has sports, that "juveniles" won't be part of the picture. Maybe they will move near an airport or highway and complain about the noise.

Who knows, if the lights were installed maybe Mr. Rodd could have gotten allot more for his house (formally a home according to Sy).

Sounds as if you like beating dead horses, JA. The Rodd-Emmick's are gone, for greener, darker, quieter, friendlier pastures.
The more interesting questions will be about Doug and Nancy Turner and their family (?) who now own (along with the bank, I presume) 88 Westway. It will be interesting and perhaps informative to learn what they knew about the "neighborhood" of their new abode before the ink dried on the documents. Did they know what they were getting into? How will they feel about their piece of turf after 1,2, or 3 years of living there - especially after lights are installed at Esposito field - and all of the fields nearby are used to their maximum potential - all for the benefits of the "kids." Maybe Bill or Lou should invite them to join this forum so that we can get their first hand answers and reports along the way.

I would look forward to hearing their response.
Hopefully, they were "enlightened" prior to the sale. I believe that with the new "disclosure" laws that this would have needed to be addressed.
