So, I'm reading the Courant yesterday and I read an article concerning the Deaf Persons Theatre. Their future is in jeopardy because their federal grant will not be coming. Said grant has been providing shows for deaf persons for at least 20 years.
Then I read another article about the $50,000 the federal government is giving Wethersfield to "beautify" Old Wethersfield.
I don't get it. Another case of priorities in the wrong place.

I frankly don't see either of those two "worthy causes" as things that our tax dollars should be going to. Neither of them is an essential governmental service that could not better be dealt with by the free market.
