Another Victory for Rocky Hill

Hats off to Mayor Cusano of Rocky Hill for landing WFSB channel 3.

Was Wethersfield ever in the process? Off the top of my head I can think of 2 sites, the old Foodways site and the NU building on Wolcott Hill.

The perfect site would be the "enterprise zone" on Rt 3 (maple st.). The 90 acres there would be perfect for attracting businesses such as WFSB.

The big selling point was access to all of the major highways.

Just another feather in the cap of our neighbor to the south and business as usual in Wethersfield.

I think that a major issue was WFSB may have been looking for more land/building space than we had to offer. If the enterprise zone is acted upon, this will certainly help with the tax issues and provide tenants, such as WFSB a place to go.

I understand, though, that much work and effort was expended by our town, as presentations took place. If you do not have a product it's difficult to sell it.
