My calculations based on the gas wholesale market in New Haven we should be paying about $1.85 for regular. It is amazing how fast the dealers raise the price when gas was going up but when it came down, they are as slow as molasses to pass the savings on to us.
In the good old day, “a year ago” dealers would make $.04-.10 a gallon, now they are making $.25-.40 a gallon and were taking the brunt of it. Our politicians focused so much on Rowland they forgot about the daily cost that are killing us.
Our State Attorney should be looking into this.

From CBS Market Watch
Despite the potential for disruption of oil output from Norway, the world's third-largest oil producer, John Kilduff, an analyst at Fimat USA, argued that "the only effect of the strike on the market so far has been to prevent a price collapse as supplies are generally healthy, especially with extra oil from OPEC currently filling the gap."
On Wednesday, the Energy Department and American Petroleum Institute each reported sizable climbs in crude inventories for the week ended June 18.

2much2do, chill out. The prices will fall. How much do you pay for bottled water? Think about what the Oil Co's go through to produce 1 gal. of gas.
Your talking R & D , drill for it, extract it from the ground, then get it to a refinery and then to the customer.

Sparky chill out. My water is free, well almost. What kind of idiot would pay over a $1.00 for a bottle of water. We have the best water in the state here in Wethersfield.
My point here is that oil prices are down again to $45 a barrel which is about 20% down from the high. All I know is at the retail level prices didn't come down that much. Where gettting taken by the big oil companies, the small gas stations and these wild speculators. If my calculations are correct, gas should be at about $1.75 a gallon and falling.
These gas stations have to be making $.25 - $.42 cents a gallon which is robbery. What happen to the .05-.08 Cents they use to work on.

You can't tell me there is no gouging going on with gas and oil. The barrel drop to $62 yesterday and the price is still around $3 a gallon, $2.79 if you look hard.
After all the crowing by our elected officials, I guess they put their spine back in the desk drawer.
I can't wait for my hybrid car to arrive, it is getting to cold for my moped.

Hey Bobby, chill out; What's a matter with you, Exxon just posted $10 Billion 3rd Qtr profit and your worried about your hybrid??? How about all the politicians in Washington and CT jumping up and down about high prices, but when it comes time for solutions, not in my state, but how dare you charge so much. Now it is time for "assistance" for everyone that cannot afford high prices, but nothing about the government making the prices so high. On one hand our State fights the new floating LNG platform proposed 11 miles off of Branford, but gas is to high and let's subsidize everyone, You can't have it both ways, hugging a tree and then complaining about it.
