Hartford Sen. John Fonfara is speaking at Hanmer School at 7 pm on Thursday, March 11 to talk about education funding reform. It's a PTO thing but they have advertised it to all the other schools and it may be interesting to hear what "our" senator thinks is the solution. Especially with this being an election year, he may not want to come right out and say that he is proposing a massive increase in the state income tax.

Right! Seems like a marketing ploy to get people to attend in the name of being good for our children, when in fact it will doubtless be another example of tax and spend: tax somebody else so that we can spend on issues which will get us more political clout. Fanfara is marketing local tax relief but is selling state control and /or regionalization, each of which will significantly decrease one of our charished principles: local control of our schools for the benefit of our children here. This will only happen if the ayes have it.

They always mask it as "for the children" when there plan is to squeeze more money out of the taxpayers, to fund their leftest agenda. Someone should ask him about binding arbitration reform and see him spin around like Linda Blair.

Did anyone attend this event by the Senator? I'm thinking there was a lot of hot air from him.
