After seeing Rocco's letter in the "local rag" and getting through "The jewel in the crown is Old Wethersfield"(By the way this is not Lexington or Concord and Paul Revere didn't ride through here)
I find it hard to believe that Rocco would think that there would be 300-400 events a year at the field, and all under the lights, the way he makes it out to be.
Gillete Stadium in Foxboro cost what? Half a Billion Dollars, and how many events do they hold there. Maybe 50,75 or 100. Unless were going to play Snowball softball, football, baseball, track, basketball, soccer, vollyball, badmitten, band, and every other sport I still don't think we'll hit that magic 300-400 number designed to get everyone fired up.

I think at most you might see 75-100 night events. This will be great to have lights when we host a soccer tournament.

5 or 6 events a year there are plenty for under the lights. Anything more is taking advantage and not being a good citizen or neighbor to Wethersfield.
Face it folks, there is parking for only a couple of hundred cars. What are the plans for parking?
Rocco is a voice that is seriously needed in Wethersfield. Don't be too critical. You support a very unpopular project for many sectors of Wethersfield.

It always comes back to the lights... Rocco, Bob Young and Co's only aim is to spread chaos on every improvement suggested in town. That way, they can keep any tax dollars from being spent, thereby allowing their lifestyle (homes in Cape Cod), etc. from being disturbed. There are a very few people at work here poeple...Wake up!!

So what there is parking for 200 cars. You know every youth program in this town uses streets to park on. They include, Charles Wright, HighCrest, Millwoood, Vallycrest, Hanmer and mostly the SDMS. People come and park all over the roads and there hasn't been one incident of any trouble. I don't know why you think we can't park on public roads. You people are to selfcentered for my liking, please MOVE.
There are some private roads in Wethersfield if your interested and could afford them.
It seems all the residents in the areas I mentioned above recognize that there are limitation to everything, but like good citizens they overcame for the good of the town and the communities in our town.

The residents around the school are selfcentered because they wish to protect their homes & the value of those homes. I don't think it is they who are selfcentered. The selfcentered are the ones who think you can completely turn a neighborhood that has always supported everything at WHS upside down.
If you don't like it then why don't you MOVE. I now believe that the people who support this project are the most critical, insensitive, selfcentered, egotistical people I have ever encountered.
As other posters have said on many occasions, if this was to be placed in your backyard or neighborhood you would be as upset as those residents that surround the school.
I do not live in that area of Wethersfield, but believe that the town is doing them a disservice and they are being treated like the bullies that are actually forcing this project down their throats. I support them because it could be my neighborhood or yours next.
Get some compassion, manners and common sense or move. Follow the beams of light.
