From reading the paper it sounds like this race will be interesting between Billy Ciotto and Ralph Cappenera.

Yep. Should be interesting. Billy has had a free pass the past three times and has gotten a little complacent and very arrogant.

They all get arrogant after there first term. They think hey I got elected once I'm in for life. Term limits are good , but the voters have the same power every two years, if they vote.

Hey, Sitting Bull, maybe it is because of big "Wampun" in all these races, that it turn's into a clusterf--k. It doesn't matter if it is local or national,it is alway's about the ALL MIGHTY $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

This race is heating up. Only if Ralph can figure out what party he is?? I hope your not running for your ego. If you are truly for the issues, go for it, and good luck

;D I am glad Ralph will give us a race to watch. How old is Ciotto anyway? He's got to be 70 or older. I wish somebody would give Doyle a run for the money. Not that I don't like Doyle I just think no challenge makes them take us for granted.

We're d**ned lucky to have Billy. He's gonna kick Ralph's rather rotund behind up and down the campaign trail. Ralph should have just concentrated on recoving from his stomach staple and be happy we're so well represented by Sen Ciotto. Hell, he's so senior, he may become Sen President once we finally dump that crook Rowland!

Well, If were going to talk about kicking butt, I hope and think it will be Ralph doin the kicking to Ciotto's old, wrinkled butt. I know many in the MVD and other state agencys will be voting for Ralph when the curtain is closed because they well know that all Ciotto friends and family have been moved into the high paying state jobs ahead of more experienced people who have had to work from the ground up. They know that Ciotto has used his position to benefit his friends and family just like his buddy John Rowland. In my opinion, Ciotto is way too old to serve and should have stepped down years ago. My only regret is I can't vote Ciotto out of office because I am now in Fonfara's district. Thankfully, Fonfara is a much better Senator than old man Ciotto.

What a load of b.s. It's easy to throw around accusations, but it's a lot harder to prove them. What do you say we just have a friendly bet... If Ralph wins in November, I'll eat my shorts. IIf Billy wins, you do the same (unless you got skid mark concerns!)...

To be honest, it will be a loss either way. Knowing both extremely well, they are both great people and stand for what they believe. Oh yeah, both supported the resolutions for the lights and field improvements at WHS.

I am just glad there is going to be a contest there. There aren't a lot of people willing to run for public office and it's almost impossible to get qualified people to run against an incumbent.

I see Ciotto just landed 550K for Rocky Hill and last month he also got them a skate board park. Our taxes here in Wethersfield where old man Ciotto claims to live is going up 18%. Tell Billy to canvas Rocky Hill when he needs votes because I will tell everyone I know in Wethersfield to vote for Ralph. I just wish he lived in my district so I could vote for him but I will be sure to get the biggest sign he has infront of my house. It's time for Billy to go!!!!! ;D

This should be a good race and maybe even a clear choice between viable candidates for a change. Somebody said that they each had about 30 grand in the bank as of the middle of July.

Ralph's not getting anyone too excited except a few posters to this site. It's like when the papers try to make a horse race out of a no contest just to sell papers. Billy Ciotto has done well for Wethersfield and just recently, was instrumental in getting the town an addition $1 million in state aid. He's just been promoted to Dep. Majority Leader (the number 2 guy in the Senate) & we'd be foolish to cut loose someone like him for the sake of "change" for change's sake.
