Members of the MOMS Club of Wethersfield have been busy selling raffle tickets for the last three weeks. All of the proceeds raised are being donated to the Wethersfield Public Library Children's Department.
The raffle drawing will take place on Friday, September 30, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. at the Wethersfield Public Library Children's Department, 515 Silas Deane Highway. Library Director Laurel Goodgion will be drawing the 6 prize winners.
The Wethersfield MOMS Club Presidents, Jana Colacino and Cindy Doherty, will be presenting a check for $3,000 to Ms. Goodgion and Regina Aleksandravicius, Director of Children's Services. The money is to help with the unmet renovation needs of the Children's Department.
The MOMS (Moms Offering Moms Support) Club is the only international non-profit organization specifically for stay-at-home moms, with over 2,000 chapters in seven countries and more than 100,000 members. Local chapters are groups of stay-at-home moms interested in providing support and sharing activities with other moms. Through our service projects, the MOMS Club seeks to enhance the quality of life of children in the communities in which we live. The Wethersfield chapter was founded in May, 2001.
