RE: WBCA Persons of The Year reception
DATE: January 26, 2005, Wednesday
The Wethersfield Business and Civic Association (“WBCA”) has chosen THE DAVERSA FAMILY [Daniel, Mary, Danielle] as its "persons of the year" for their dedicated work to improve Wethersfield by creating "MIKEY’S PLACE" playground in Old Wethersfield.
The Daversa Family created "Mikey’s Place" playground to benefit all children, even those who are disabled, as a tribute to and celebration of the brief but joyous life of their son Michael who succumbed to Spinal Muscular Atrophy before his third birthday. Today, countless Wethersfield and area families and children enjoy the "Mikey’s Place" in Standish Park.
The WBCA will honor The Daversa Family with a reception from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Wednesday, January 26, 2005, at Keeney Hall in the Keeney Memorial Culture Center in Old Wethersfield. The cost for the event includes hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine.
The WBCA has been active in Wethersfield for over 90 years and is one of the town’s oldest civic organizations. The award reception is usually one of the WBCA’s major events during the year. The net proceeds will go to support local activities, including 'Dollars For Scholars' and youth sports teams.
WBCA members and anyone else wishing to honor The Daversa Family as the “Persons of the Year” are invited to attend.
Tickets are $30.00 per person and can be reserved by calling Bill Hart at 529-2537 or may be paid in advance by writing:
