As I had mentioned on Rick Garrey's "Wethersfield LIVE" show recently, the new, offical 2005 Town Calendar is now available at Town Hall. I recommend that all who have dealings with the Town or who want to know how to access various Town services and departments should get a copy while they last. (No, I don't know how many were printed or if they run out whether or not more would be ordered. I am sure there are far fewer that the 10,000 dwelling units which we have in town.) I have started this thread for three reasons: first, to encourage people to get their own copy; second, to alert people to a couple errors which I have noticed in the calendar, and finally encourage forum subscribers to make suggestions which might lead to future enhancements to the Town Calendar. Errors: - on the first page (not counting the front/back of the top cover) where phone numbers for town departments and contacts are listed, there is an important omission in the "Police Information" section. The phone number for that specific line is correct: 571-2900. However, the reader is lead to believe that the following numbers in that section also use a 571 prefix. That is NOT the case! All those lower numbers in the P/I section use the Town's 721 prefix. You might want to pen in 721 before each of those numbers when you get your copy.
- The name of the most holy day of the Christian year has been omitted: EASTER!
- The name of the most important national holiday has been omitted: INDEPENDENCE DAY (AKA, the "4th of July").

Oops! I hope that the Town Mothers, Fathers and Manager inform the public about the problem with the WPD phone numbers in the front of the 2005 Calendar. Remedies could include: - Annoucement during several town council meetings, say during the months of Jan & Feb, when people will be picking them up;
- the Town Clerk could have printed adhesive labels to stick over the section in error with the corrected numbers (Use all 7 digits!), and (1) have one of this either installed into each calendar before releasing it or (2) just clip or semi-stick tape one onto the front for the citizen to affix him/her-self;
- on the Town's website, both on its main page and on the WPD's section, publish a highlighted corrections notice instructing citizens to pen in the needed 721 prefix before each of those numbers (until the NEXT calendar is issued in 2006) which need to be made to the 2005 Calendar).
