I attended (and later spoke) at the 6/19/2006 regular Council meeting. I have to believe that, unless you have a copy of the agenda right in front of you, it is easy to miss the significant of certain changes which are made to it just before the meeing gets underway. I did not note the recommendation and decision to "withdraw" the unapproved minutes of the regular council meeting of 6/5/2006; that should have caught my attention.

Not only that, when I obtained a digital copy of those minutes from the clerk a few days earlier (and subsequently posted them, I did not catch this rather unusual step which the Council took. I cannot recall when they did something like this before!

Syzygy, yours is a good question. Oldetowne, yours is a reasonable answer, but.

Upon my review of these unapproved minutes, I do not discern any obvious reason why they should not have been acted upon, unless there is something "between the lines" or blatantly missing or wrong.

Perhaps on additional readings, it may become clear. I know that I will look forward to comparing the eventually approved (no sooner than 7/17/2006 - the only regular council meeting in July) version to this one.

Any other observations before then and after will be appreciated here I am sure.
