According to the agenda of the Town Council for this Monday, October 3, under other business, there is apparently a proposal for a !!! DOG PARK !!! in Mill Woods.
Give me a break!
Let me get this straight, people from all over town are going to get into their gas-guzzling cars and drive all the way to the Dog Park in Mill Woods so that the dog can take a dump and they have to pick it up/bag it and then they get back into their V-hickles and drive back to their pristine neighborhood.
Or, they just let fido do his thing and leave it there for the Town to clean up; you can be sure that the WPD will not be enforcing this in any way; and, we don't yet have "park rangers" to enforce the dog-do ordinance. Anyway, short of catching the perp and its co-conspirator (owner) on video, who will be able to make a case for littering.
(Maybe the next year, when the dogs in town have to be registered, a DNA sample from each dog could be obtained, analyzed and databased so that the dog/owner can be ID'd. Of course the user's fee will be around $5,000 for the DNA ID and some people may balk (baseball lingo!) at the fee and think twice about having a pooch in the first place, but that's another story.....). Do we have a line item in the budget for clean-up of dog-do in our Parks?

I think the plan is that it would self-supporting like the Skate Park. Big dogs and little dogs together selling lemonade and collecting cans and bottles to pay for it. Maybe Morganika will contribute to build a feral cat park there too.
