Morgan,
If you are still monitoring this forum, please know that I in all honesty am sad to see that you have disenrolled.
This forum does provide an outlet that is not otherwise available in town. Ideas and comments shared here do not go unnoticed at many levels in town and at Town Hall.
Though (based on the karma-factor, for whatever that may or may not be worth) your positions may not have resonated with some who from time to time participate here, you were and are entitled to them.
The "Feral Cat Problem" thread has accumulated a lot of activity since you started it in October, 2004. Some of the advice which you sought has been helpful and some has not. The problem, at least in your corner of the woods (Wintergreen) persists. I have no doubt about that. Sooner or later it will have to be addressed by citizens and leaders in town. The solution will have to be both political and practical and politics involves (at best) the art of compromise.
Cats are cats and dogs are dogs and people are people.
I look forward to your involving yourself in the process to address and mitigate the problem as you see it, whether here or in Town Hall.
Don't give up. This town can afford to address a reasonable plan and a humane action to help control the feral cat problem.
Please be part of that discussion.
