I think that the concern here about losing control of government is only valid of you are a person that wants to use hot air and local intimidation to push your projects through the current town system. Other than that I don't see the problem. Lots of places do this, its working for them. Aside from all that, there are levels to this kind of reform that make it possible for each town to keep its charter and make its own laws while benefiting from a shared tax base. You need to do more than read one article and talk to one person to figure that out. I offer only that people should read what is available and decide for themselves.
This forum is not a place to glean the information to form your opinions. Its a place to hear people try and force their opinions down your throat. My self included. So please read read read then discuss. Don't take what I say or what any one else says as fact.

Although I have no time to devote to this, I would like to thank all those that will take part in this and would love additional information and feedback as this moves along in order to have a better understanding of the impact.

One irony that I note in this is that many of the folks who are most interested in these changes are in the part of town least affected by it. What some living down off Two Rod and Hang Dog may consider to be interesting academic and sociological questions is in fact a reality for most of the town north of Nott Street and down by the "projects" and those kids attending Hanmer and Charles Wright.
