"Blue bins may be purchased for $7.50 in the Building Department at the Town Hall or at the Physical Services Department at 100 Marsh Street."
Yes I have a problem with that. They used to be offered free. I went down and had to get one for my neighbor and myself when they were free. Duct tape only goes so far. This was because the man that collects the recycles "THROWS" the bin througn the air onto the lawn. I have watched him (not always the same person) do this time and time again. Why should I have to spend my hard earned money to buy a bin from the town or from a department store to have it smashed up by a service I pay good tax money for? To minimize damage, I have been saving up recyclable cans and bottles if I don't have many, so I can put out a full bin. However when I do this and leave papers out, they drive by without collecting half the time.
If they are concerned the citizens are after free plastic bins to store stuff in as a reason for charging (highly unlikely) why don't they offer to trade the damaged bin for a good one.
